The generator is a lemon. It's never run like it should.
The thing has spent most of the three years we've had it in the shop. We have spent over $ 2,000. plus to try to get it to run like it should. I owned many generators in my life and they were never a problem.
I owned a Onan on my boat, and it ran perfect. It's back in the shop.

I have a client who has a problem with a Onan generator, please, find attached the model of the generator.
I contacted your official dealer, Motormarine in Margherita Ligure to fix the problem.
I ordered and payed necessary parts 18/04 and fixed a day for the job (14/05/24).
One of the parts needed to be delivered with express courier (as the mechanics told me the part will be delivered in 48hours max).
After nearly a month (13/05/24), I called to be sure that the parts have been delivered and the job will be done. But the mechanics said that this part with express delivery hasnt arrived yet.
Now were more than 1 month since payment had been made and the part is still not here. I now discover the part can be ordered in USA for USA customer, but not for an European customer.
Please, could you suggest me how to proceed with this situation, because my client needs this generator fixed and to leave the port.
If the part in attached is not available. Please advise post haste. You are now costing a Cummins customer money in port and dockage fees.

The warranty is purely useless
Even when I first bought the motorhome it broke down and I had to pay approximately $700.
The stater went out
Buying a warranty is just a way to get more money out of you. I have to carry an extra generator if I know I'm going to need it. It'll setting in my
Motorhome right now and as usual broken down.
Just bought a predator 5000 duel fuel inverter generator and used it to replace the onan which I must call just a piece of high price junk
I'll never get another one
Will be Buying a new motorhome next year and it will absolutely not have a onan in it or I surely won't purchase it

We called tech services after much searching on the internet. The website was not clearly identified.
We spoke with a tech who did not seem confident that he could help. After trying several suggestions from the tech, it was determined that the fuel/gas was not getting to the carburetor. We then decided to try using propane. We had not brought the adapters for propane use, so we proceeded to the hardware store and purchased a regulator, a tank of propane, and a hose.
We took it back to the campsite, but the connection on the generator was not a standard size.
Out of utter frustration, I covered the fuel filler and blew as hard as I could, getting gas all over my face. Lo and behold, it started.

Problem wit at onan lp2500 microlite generator
- - Generator won't run on the RV propane supply.
- - It runs fine on a separate LP tank.
- - Onan says the generator is fine; issue is the supply line.
We have a 2500lp Microlite generator and it doesn't run with the RV propane supply. We hooked it up to a separate LP gas tank and it ran fine with no problems.
I called Onan customer support and they said if it runs fine with the other tank, that means the generator is fine; the problem is the supply line. They recommend calling the RV manufacturer to find out what the problem is.

My RV Onan generator has 100 hours on it and the fuel pump failed. I bought one because we were leaving the next day for a trip and I had to replace it myself.
I called Cummins when we returned from our trip to ask about warrant. The first man I talked to assured me Cummins would take care of the problem, but passed me on to another person. After several days of being passed around to different departments around the country, I am now told there is no coverage.
Way to stand behind your product Cummins. I will put in a Honda Inverter when I have a major problem.

Dealer left me "High and Dry"
- - Spent $100k+ on diesel engines, generator and transmissions.
- - Dealer took payment, went dark; transmissions don't fit, and I can't reach anyone.
No change in status.
I bought over $100k worth of diesel engines, generator and transmissions for my boat. The dealer was supposed to do the install and as soon as they got their money, they went dark.
The engines, generator and transmissions were delivered, but the transmissions do not fit in the boat and there is no way to get in touch with anyone to resolve the problem.
This has been going on for almost two years now and I have tried countless times to get in touch with the dealer by phone and I have showed up on site with no luck to find anyone. My boat has been sitting in the yard racking up storage fees.

Preferred solution: I would like to get some attention to my problems and have the dealer execute the contract they agreed to.

- - Generator has 24 hours and won’t start after regulator and spark plug changes, with about $1,000 to pull it.
This generator only has 24 hours on it. Its started running fine when we left it wouldnt start.
They told me to put a regulator on it. I did it didnt start so I pulled the spark plug. Put a new one in it, but before I started it, I run it over and over for about 30 40 seconds Cleaned out whatever mightve been in there with spark plug it the same thing wouldnt start backfired so now theyre pulling the generator at thousand dollars of cost for failed 24 hour 3600 propane generator.
I need help with this problem. I cant afford that.

Horrible customer dealer service
Yes. Again the local dealer refuses to help any longer. The manufacturer sent two more dealer contacts but they could not help
Purchased and installed a new 20 kw single phase unit for a customer as I am an electric contractor. The unit is now 2 years old and has never been reliable.
The local Charlotte dealer has had several techs out to replace and test many times only to say now they are no longer going to provide service on this unit. How do you combat this situation?
Tried several times to contact the factory but no one there cares either... Will never recommend Cummins Onan again if we ever get this one straightened out...
